Your Home Inspector Since 2008

JUlie peck

I am Julie Peck. I have been into inspecting since 2008. I am a very energetic and approachable person. I have always had attention to details, which I bring to your home inspection. Being a registered inspector with the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI), I certainly follow the CSA-A770 home inspection standard. I am a qualified radon measurement specialist, with Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP), and listed on Health Canada’s website. I can test your home for radon levels.

I am also a Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) certified inspector and can inspect your wood burning appliances such as wood and pellet stoves, and fireplaces.

Qualification and Certifications

I am a graduate of Humber College (Ontario) in home inspection program achieving honours. The program featured courses in plumbing, electrical, HVAC (heating and ventilation), building structures, and building science.

It is important for me to continue to take courses to upgrade my skills and knowledge or changes in materials and building practices. I have also completed a Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) course on air conditioning and refrigeration, and entrepreneur training with Memorial University.

My Experiences

While I was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy, I volunteered for a renovation project of a public school in Antigua. This project encouraged me to build my confidence. I have also renovated my old home which is more than a 100 years old.

I also had the opportunity to mentor with a former building inspector with Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) for 3.5 years, helping me enhance my skill as a home inspector.
